Today I moved a lot of trees; bring them up from the bottom benches where many were dormant for the winter and up into the bright sunlight top shelf. It gave me an opportunity to clean up and enjoy their new buds. Since the Winter was so warm may popped new growth last week in 80 degree temps. Some of these trees are the shohin size but other are medium size.
Pearl berry in the Spring. Delicate leaves and great color. Japanese Black ping shohin. Such a gem of a tree. Buds are small just like we want. Japanese Black pine Shohin. Buds are pushing and it will soon need some needle cleanup. Spring grown on my Crape Myrtle. This is its third year in development. Spring growth on this little dwarf ginkgo. I will be working on the styling of this to foster ramification. Boston Ivy Spring growth is always colorful and shinny. Dwarf Ivy bunjin. This tree is always a balance of weight and density. If the top gets to heavy in bends the entire composition down. It will soon be repotted into a larger pot burring the heavy root. I need to eventually get rid of it. After a warm winter the Ficus Benjamina is full of growth Delicate foliage of dwarf Ginkgo Serissa before Spring flush, soon to be repotted in a more delicate artisan pot
