This time of year, I start working with fruiting and flowering species to get them ready for setting new buds. Trimming off leaves, some gentle repotting, and thinning are in the works now. I have up-potted grapes that were in liners, repotted a new beauty berry, and gave a new home an charming little ume. I do very little work on tropical trees other than cleaning up and thinning foliage that is too dense to support in the Winter. I did; however, get a change to separate and pot some new shohin western figs that were gifted to me from a club member. Those will go nearly dormant soon and can be done if protected.
